Midsummer Paleo Challenge Rules!
Day 1 of elimination: Tuesday, July 7th
1st Place: Depends on number of entries!
(If you make it all the way through the challenge, you will be given a check of “winnings” based on number of entrants.)
Since it is an elimination challenge, many might tie for first, and maybe EVERYONE will tie for first!
Other Prizes: Random Drawing of “Paleo Day,” which could be any of the 30 days, so even if you are out of the challenge, you can still win a prize!
This will be an elimination challenge. What this means is, if you eat from a non exempt food item that has not been listed as exempt (exemption rules below) then you are OUT of the challenge.
Upon being out of the challenge, you cannot win the grand prize, but are still asked to keep your cheat vs. non cheat days as you will have a chance to win the “Random Day” prize.
Approved Foods List:
Healthy Meats (Was the Animal healthy…)
Beef, Bison, Poultry, Fish, Shellfish etc.
Nuts (NOT Peanuts….)
Olive Oil (cooked at or below medium heat)
Common NON approved list…
NO added sweeteners
NO Artificial Sweeteners
You get exactly 1 exemption from the list above. However, it must be an approved exemption. For example…you can’t claim “bread.” or “pizza.” You CAN claim beans, or dairy, or corn tortillas, or quinoa, for example.
Once the challenge starts, your exempt item can’t change it.
Ashley Cicoria turns 30 on July 11, she is exempt that day and anyone going to her party is allowed 1 alcoholic beverage of their choice and it not be elimination from the challenge.
I will have a sheet posted with copies for you on Monday. You will be required to sign your name to each day as either “paleo” or “off the wagon.”
Make sure to keep record even if you are out for the “consolation” prize which we will reward a randomly drawn day as being paleo. Only if you are paleo on that day can you win. Any of the 30 days could be chosen so the more paleo you are the better chance of winning the consolation prize.
