The more I talk with you all, the more I realize how it is amazing how we all come to the same place for our fitness goals.
Some of us want to be healthy, and well.
Others of us want to be really good at CrossFit
Still others want more aesthetic driven goals.
I want CrossFit LoDo to be the home of all of those pursuits, but I need something from you…the knowledge of what it is that YOU want!
I promise you if you want lifetime wellness as a buffer against sickness, the “regular” program is all you will ever need. However, if you have other goals, attack them! We have a rare thing at CrossFit LoDo, I want you to pursue all of them. We aren’t a CrossFit gym that makes fun of someone for doing curls, or prepping for that half marathon, or doing a Hatch cycle. That is a rare thing for some reason, because I feel many in the fitness community are too myopic and think THEIR fitness goals are ALL OF OUR fitness goals.
The reason I say this, I want you to talk to me if you want something specific out of the hard work you put in. CrossFit is meant to be general physical preparedness and general health and wellness training. I can get you bigger biceps. I can also get you a PR marathon time. Actually, that is wrong. I can give you the template for those things, but it is you who does the really hard work, i.e. come in and do the extra sets, the two WOD’s a day, the extra skill work in the corner.
Take advantage of what we have, and make this day and every day the direction you want in your health, wellness, and fitness. I believe you’ve done the hardest part, find a place that really wants that for you. Now for the second hardest part, pursue those things with fervor.
