Who are you?
I’m a colorado native, and the life of professional sports took me to several states after graduating from the University of Colorado in 2007, but I always had a home in Colorado because, well, it is home.
I love to learn, read, and teach. My parents both taught (my dad as a golf instructor and my mom as a high school teacher, both for over 30 years) so I grew up in an environment where I was always being taught, and learned that teaching is very much a two way street. I’m always learning new things and relaying those things to my students, who in turn always teach me.
If you can’t find me I’m probably eating red meat and sweet potatoes somewhere around town. I love this community.
Why do I CrossFit?
One of my goals in life is to play golf when I am 100 years old. I believe CrossFit to be a way to get there. I believe in functional fitness, and because life is so busy, being able to come in, do a hard workout that tests my mental, physical, and technical abilities in less than an hour is by far the easiest way I have found to reach my ultimate goal.
I also like the fact that it makes me try to be a little bit better every day.
Why do I CrossFit at CFLD?
Though I did not open the doors to this gym, I have been involved since two months into its inception. This is one of the oldest CF gyms in Denver, and I believe it to have the heart and soul of any healthy community. Yes, if you want to make it to the CrossFit Games, myself and my coaches have the knowledge, passion, and drive to get you there. However, if your goal is like mine, and there is no one “end” to this fitness game, CrossFit LoDo does an amazing job of blending this program to be one part of your life, that integrates and adds quality to all others. My coaches all buy into this way of thinking, and I know because of their coaching style and attitude, and the athletes we have, it is a very special place.
