I have been an athlete my entire life. I played a variety of team sports throughout grade school and some club sports in college. After college, I worked out for years in a big box gym doing the typical bro workouts along with some cardio. I really lacked motivation and was continuously gaining weight throughout my early 20s. While in a phase of eating really unhealthy and not working out, a co-worker convinced me to give CrossFit a shot. I have been hooked ever since! The class environment, the variety of workouts, and the community really keep me going.
The community! I have dropped into several other boxes throughout Colorado and the US, but CrossFit LoDo has always been my home. There is a really tight group of people here at CFLD. We get stuff done in the gym, cheer each other on, geek out on fitness, and have fun with group activities outside of the gym too.
Also, the flexibility of class times along with open gym keeps me at CFLD. At times, I lead a pretty busy life and am unsure when I can make it to the gym on any given day. It is great to have such a variety of class times to choose from. Even if I can’t make it to a class or if I want to focus on strength or Olympic lifting on my own, I can come in to do my own thing anytime the gym is open.
I grew up in the great state of Michigan, love to participate in group sports (volleyball and hockey), am really fond of the outdoors, and enjoy drinking a nice, cold IPA on a patio with friends. I am also super nerdy and love my job in software.
